Heightened. Peaceful. Boundless.
A state of consciousness
where there is no place for stress or anxiety...
Right there, in the moment it is needed the most.

Embodying DavidHugh's patented Floatation® technology, Aiora achieves perfect equilibrium using pure Planar Motion Mechanics. This unique design minimises external sensory input while heightening internal awareness. The technology is so sensitive that the simple act of breathing can lift the entire body.

By freeing the mind from the content of consciousness, where stress and anxiety reside, your nervous system immediately calms. This provides unparalleled potential to unlock deep relaxation and access profound meditative states.

RELEASE STRESS

Immediately calms the nervous system, offering one of the most advanced ways to relax, release stress, and reset.

TRUE DISCONNECTION

Reduces exteroception and increases interoception and as such, offers a true disconnect from the outside world.

the finest Scottish leather

Crafted from locally sourced hides and traditionally finished by master tanners. With its smooth, flat grain, soft handfeel, and refined matt surface, the leather conveys understated sophistication

Aiora has been designed for longevity, upgradability and circularity.

The engineering of Aiora is deliberately on show and whilst beautiful to look at, this access to the technology promotes servicing and renewal, whether in the place of use or service locations. This reduces the impact Aiora has on the environment... by design.

FAQ

Does Aiora require electricity to power?

Aiora operates entirely without electricity or electronics.

Aiora is a purely mechanical system based on pure Planar Motion mechanics. There are no electric motors, sprung mechanisms, or complex electronics to fail. The movement is sensed, actuated, and controlled by the individual in the chair.

Is there a weight limit?

Aiora is designed to safely accommodate a maximum user weight of 110 kg.

How long does it take to learn how to float in Aiora?

The learning process is usually quick and intuitive, often taking just minutes.

While a few people may initially feel a slight anxiety about the feeling of weightlessness, the body quickly adapts and learns to control the motion with confidence. Many users find the discovery phase desirable and truly amazing.

The skill of controlling your body's motion in a weightless state is learned through your procedural memory—the same way you learn to ride a bike or swim. Since this type of learning is subconscious, you may not even be aware that you are making progress. We encourage you to trust the process and allow yourself time in the chair. You will soon find the best way to control the chair in a way that is right for you.

How long might it take to experience a non-ordinary state of consciousness?

Aiora is designed to "effortlessly unlock deep states of meditation within minutes". Neuroscience research findings show that in a high-stress laboratory setting, maximal EEG changes occurred within the first 5–10 minutes of the session. In applied research simulating typical user scenarios in familiar, low-stress settings, statistical significance was observed in pilot tests within 5 minutes. According to the chair's designer, sudden shifts in consciousness can be felt almost immediately.

How does Aiora's feeling of weightlessness and motion differ from a zero-gravity massage chair or a high-end recliner?

Aiora differs fundamentally from Zero Gravity chairs and traditional seating, offering an incomparable experience:

1. Mechanical Principle:
Aiora uses pure Planar Motion mechanics which removes the effects of gravity and perceived friction from the movement of the chair. The user is always in motion, but since there is no acceleration from gravity, the user can balance in any position without need to lock the mechanism. Conventional relaxation seating, including zero gravity lounge chairs, cannot achieve this and either require electric motors to actuate movement, or locking devices to fix recline positions. The difference is static support vs weightless motion. To learn more see our White Paper: Human Kinetics in Floatation® Technology

2. Comparative Results:
In laboratory research, Floatation® technology significantly outperformed a Zero-Gravity Massage Chair in inducing deep mindfulness meditation. Specifically, Floatation® produced a significantly higher Theta/Alpha ratio (a key biomarker for deep mindfulness meditation) compared to the massage condition. See our White Paper: Neurophysiology and Phenomenology of Floatation®

3. Experience:
Aiora allows the user to experience the inertia of their entire body in a weightless state without external force. A form of true weightlessness. It is so sensitive, the simple act of breathing can lift the whole body.

Where is the Aiora chair manufactured?

Aiora is proudly designed and made in Cambridge, England.

What is the product warranty for Aiora?

Warranty

5 year - structural parts
3 years - moving parts
2 years - coating, foam and fabric/leather

What after-sales service support do you provide globally?

Full after-sales service support is currently available only in the UK and China. If the chair is taken outside the UK/China, it must be returned to the UK/China at your cost before we can provide full after-sales service. We are updating our after-sales service network. Please contact us for the latest return and service locations.

In countries where full after-sales service is unavailable, we offer online video diagnostic support, parts delivery, and technical guidance to help resolve issues efficiently.

What routine maintenance is required to keep Aiora in optimal condition?

The Floatation® mechanism of Aiora is pre-calibrated and requires no maintenance under normal use. The moving parts are practically frictionless.

For routine cleaning and care of the chair's surfaces and fabrics/ leathers, please refer to our dedicated Cleaning and Care Guide.

Can I sleep in the Aiora chair?

Yes, many people with sleep disorders find it very easy to sleep in Aiora. Aiora may therefore be a helpful aid to biphasic sleep (for a nap in the afternoon). Caution should be taken not to sleep for too long as this may  disrupt your night time sleep quality. We do not recommend that Aiora is used in place of a bed for night time sleep.
